What We've Been Up To

Well, I haven't blogged since Aug 17, so it's definitely time to stop in again! I was feeling so burned out on blogging and FB. Especially FB. I often feel flooded with way too much information the minute the feed pops up. I love the posts my friends put up about their kids and families and some funny memes ~ but it's all the other drivel that I can do without. I literally cringe when I see how often the Kardashians trend on a weekly basis ~ our society can do so much better. It's so sad and scary. Seriously. But I digress...

So...what have we been up to since I last blogged?

Briana has been doing awesome at school since her little social drama ended. She and her friend are still great friends and Bri is making new friends too (wipe sweat off brow). 

4th grade is going very, very well now...

Bri has been wearing some of her new birthday clothing to school...

When it gets warmed by body heat, it turns mostly white...

Since I last posted, Bri has had 4 regular soccer practices and 1 scrimmage practice. Her team is looking really good (they should have their first game on Sept 12)...

Unfortunately, two of the practices were cut short due to incoming bad weather...

Bri's been playing a lot of Minecraft. She had to friend Taylor over to play one day...

Bri and I had a girls shopping day on Sunday to use some of Bri's birthday money.

Bri has been doing the "V sign" in a lot of her photos lately. I asked her where she learned it and she said from the show "Make It Pop"...

Totally makes sense now.

Our favorite Halloween store opened back up again and Bri and I are excited. We love Halloween ~ definitely one of our favorite holidays. It really makes us feel like fall is around the corner. And we also like to be a bit scared...

Miss Mei Mei has been chillaxing for the most part...

And sitting/sleeping in her favorite box (That awesomely soft kitty cave I got her ~ she won't use it. She prefers the box.)

I did take her to the vet on Wednesday. 

I tried a new vet when Mei first got home (one very close to my house), but I really missed my previous vet (the one that took care of Asia). My previous vet is strictly a cat vet. It is so quiet in the office ~ with classical music playing when you walk in the door. A super calm atmosphere.

So I guess my previous vet is now my current vet again.

Mei Mei needed some vaccines, and in the process of our appointment, I found out that she has packed on too many pounds (her prescribed gastro food is high calorie ~ more for outdoor cats ~ she is prone to gaining weight ~ she needs a lower calorie food), she is in serious need of a dental cleaning (her gums are super red and puffy) and her lab work showed that her kidney function levels are a bit high. So next week, she is getting a dental cleaning and a urinalysis to make sure she is doing ok.

After her vaccines, she was feeling a bit puny...

She's doing much better now.

 And finally, Bri had a 4th grade performance at school on Tuesday evening. The kids sang two songs after the PTA meeting and they did great.
