The Spring Tease

The weather has been so wacky the last few months. I believe spring is teasing us this year. The weather has been so back and forth. I swear there were warmer days in February than in April. Briana's spring break was last week and we had a "stay-cation." One day while Bri and her friend were playing on the playground, I had to put on a jacket on the middle of the day because I was cold. Kind of crazy for Georgia.

The first taste of spring we had was at the end of Feb. We went to a nearby local square to have lunch and enjoy some sunshine.

It was the most beautiful day. Not a cloud in the sky. The buds were just starting to open on the trees...

Bri loves playing on the train (even at 9 years old)...

She immediately friended a child much younger than her. When the little girl had to leave, her mom walked over to me and Doug and said how sweet Briana was with her daughter. B has always been really good with younger kids...

Another child she friended pretty quickly...

After she played for a while, we headed over to her favorite ice cream shop...

Big smiles...

We had never stopped in Cabela's before, so after the square, we decided to check it out on the way home...

Bri didn't realize at first that all of the animals in the store were alive at one time. She told me that she was sad about that...

She really needed a new sleeping bag. Of course, she walked out with a pink one...

That night, she zipped herself up in it and started to read...

The weekend following the trip to the square (first weekend in March), Bri was once again bundled up (in my jacket) at the zoo. It was so chilly that day...

Then weekend after the zoo, Bri was in shorts going to see a movie...

Temps continued to warm and all the Bradford Pears trees were in bloom in March...

The trees are so beautiful right in front of Bri's school...

Just a few days after taking pictures of the trees (the weekend after the movie), it got cold again. Bri and her cousins were looking for Easter eggs wearing coats and sweaters...

The chilliness continued into the next weekend (Easter weekend) and it was rainy as well.

Spring break rolled around and it was still a bit chilly. We were wearing jackets in the mornings and in the evenings for sure last week...

This week looks like temps will be in the mid to upper 60's - which is pretty normal for this time of year (maybe a little below) I think. This weekend should be in the 70's and then low 80's for next week. Spring is trying to break through again.

I actually prefer the cooler weather, but this back and forth is driving me nuts. The weather needs to just make up its mind!
