Colorforming, Playdohing, Jewelry Making and Dress Up

Briana is a massive extrovert. She enjoys spending time out with people. She does enjoy crafting, drawing, etc, but honestly, she rather be seeing her friends or running around outside. Well, I need more down time than her - being more of an introvert at heart. I didn't make too many plans this past week because I just needed some alone time. Bri had two swim lessons during the week and that was about it. It was July 4th week - so a number of our friends already had plans or were out of town. Which is fine really because I just wanted to stay close to home. But it has rained this week. Every. Day. Rain. That makes it hard for my extroverted only child to find stuff to do sometimes. She ends up either in front of the TV or on her iPad. So I was armed with some things for her to do to keep her busy on a rainy day.

Colorforms! I have had some in my closet for a few years now. These were not my sets growing up, but I found them on ebay and bought them thinking Bri might like them. I remember loving these exact sets as a kid. And they were a HUGE hit. She played with them for hours on Wednesday...

Briana loved them so much on Wednesday, she played with them again on Thursday. I put a lamp on the ground because the Holly Hobbie set glows. I remember that was my favorite set as a kid...

Of course, you can't go wrong with Play Doh. She played for a long time with that as well...

One day, I pulled out a charm/necklace making kit she received for her birthday last year...

And lastly, you can't go wrong with some dress up. Except when you try to scare you mother to death wearing this. Snort...

I cannot say that Briana has not watched too much TV and has not had too much iPad or computer time this week because I'd be lying. But with an extroverted "only" living in my house, there is only so much I can do with a rainy week. But I tried to do my best keeping her busy in other ways. This upcoming week we have company coming to stay with us and I am SO excited! More details on that later. :)
