Strawberry Pickin'

This afternoon, I decided to take Briana to a strawberry patch that is about 20 minutes from my house. We had some seriously bad storms last night, but the weather today has been picture perfect. No humidity, 70 degrees with a slight breeze. Perfect for picking strawberries. Since it rained so hard last night, the patch was quite muddy and there were plenty of watery spots (as you can see above). Bri had on her rain boots and loved splashing in the puddles. She did a fantastic job of picking the ripe ones. We walked away with a gallon of strawberries and they are so sweet and delicious. We already had a bunch for dessert tonight! Enjoy the pics of our fun field trip...

The Renaissance Festival

(It isn't a Renaissance Festival unless you have fairy wings. Just sayin.)

Doug, Bri and I headed to the Georgia Renaissance Festival Sunday afternoon. It was a beautiful day, though a tad warm, but it was really nice in the shady areas...

Not only did Briana get wings, she got a bit of fairy dust too...

Bri and daddy...

The festival held an Easter treasure hunt. The kids ran for plastic eggs, necklaces and candy. Here is an elf giving directions...

The Easter bunny...

Can't go to the festival without getting a turkey leg...

Belly dancing performance...

Taking a breather...

The joust area! Doug paid some extra money so we could get seats inside the joust area and sit in the shade. We sat under the red tarp...

Our view...

We cheered for the good guy "Sir Elgeron."

The king and his court...

The joust...

Sir Elgeron...

Briana got his autograph after the show...

She looks a little too comfortable with her knight...

An acrobatic performance...

Bri loved this swing ride...

Unicorn pop...

These pickles were absolutely delish...

A little face painting...

I have always wanted to take Briana to the Renaissance Festival. It was a wonderful experience. The Easter holiday this year was so much better than Easter last year. I am so grateful for that.

Easter/Passover Dinner and Easter Morning

For those of you that have read my blog for a long time, you know that my father is Jewish and my mother is Catholic (Doug, Bri and I are Catholic as well). And I have a Chinese daughter. So we celebrate a LOT of holidays now. ;D

Saturday afternoon, we headed over to my parents' house for a Passover/Easter dinner. My sister, BIL and nephew came as well. My mom made chicken soup and here is Briana spreading butter on the matzah (Yes, she decided to eat Spaghettios instead of soup. She requested them and Gramma obliged)...

After dinner, Aunt Amy provided ice cream and sundae toppings...

Gramma hid a few eggs in the house. Hey, there is money in here!

Poor Papa got a medical exam from the kids...

It was a fun family night and Briana fell fast asleep on the way home.

The Friday before Easter, Briana and I made Easter cookies. Bunnies, flowers and Easter baskets, oh my! This was how much fun she had decorating...

Our bunnies...

Briana fell fast asleep in the car Saturday night, so she wasn't able to put out a cookie and carrots for the Easter bunny like she had wanted to. So, mama helped her out. Sunday morning, the cookie and carrots were gone. She was quite excited...

This was one of the items in her basket...

This was some candy from the big bag of goodies she got from Gramma and Papa...
Let's look at Bri with her basket again. Cute stuff...

And here is some video of Bri taking items out of her basket. She is so funny. She gets so excited about everything...
