Fall Break - The Ups and Downs at the North GA Fair

Bri definitely needed that ice goodness. It was quite warm when we arrived at the fair Friday afternoon. Very unlike the past two years. I will be honest, Miss B was not in the best mood when we first arrived at the fair. WHAT???? My wonderful, spirited, usually happy girl was not in a good mood at a fair? You got it. I know you probably cannot believe what you are reading, but yes, my girl was not all smiles.

Reasons:
One - She fell asleep in the car on the way over, so she was a bit tired.
Two - We had a whirlwind, full of fun week and I think she was overloaded.
Three - It was still daylight and Briana wanted the lights to come on at the fair.
Four - She has outgrown some of the baby rides and wanted to go on some of the bigger rides (my fearless, adrenaline junkie) but she is unfortunately not quite tall enough yet.
Five - It was kind of warm.

So, the first hour of our visit consisted of Briana getting on rides with barely a smile. She admitted she was kind of bored. Lovely. We decided to go get something to eat, let Bri sit for while and waited for it to cool off. By the time we were done with dinner (and after a bit of a calm, yet firm, pep talk), she was ready to go. We headed immediately to the bungee (Briana's all time favorite thing to do as you all know) and then the big smiles came. And then she got to rock climb, and the bigger smiles came. And finally, the lights came on, it cooled way down and all was right with the world. *Insert sigh of relief*

Enjoy some of our trip to the fair...

We finally headed home around 9PM. We walked out with a caramel apple, some cotton candy, a stuff dog and a very happy girl. I think we had one very successful fall break. :)

My Bungee Jumping Gal

I think everyone knows by now that my gal loves to jump on the bungee. It is the favorite part of the fair for Briana. She tries to go as high as she can. Fearless I tell ya.

Here she is ready to go Friday night at the fair...

Let's suit up...

And here is the jumping...

Let me show you a little video of this...

And just to refresh your memories, this is my girl the first time she ever went on a bungee at a mere two years old...

This was Briana jumping at the fair last year...

And this was her this year at the Pioneer Days festival...

She is truly an adrenaline junkie. I'm bracing myself for the day she tells me she wants to bungee jump off a bridge or skydive out of a plane. Ok - not letting my mind go there. :)

Fall Break - Three Carousels in Three Days

Last week was fall break in my county (even though the temps still felt like summer), so I had an entire week to fill with activities for Miss B. And I did. We were BUSY. We visited with friends and family, went to the zoo, went shopping, celebrated the moon festival, had a teeth cleaning, baked cookies and much more. And Briana rode three carousels on three different days last week. Oh yes she did.

At the zoo...

At the mall with her cousin...

And this last one? I took it of her at the fair. We thought we would cap off the fall break with a trip to the North GA Fair...

The fair was a lot warmer than in years past, but still plenty of fun. You know I am going to devote a whole post to the fair (ok, maybe two). More to come...

Like My New Blog Design?

Briana

Welcome to my new diggs! Like the new blog design? Christie from Bushel and a Peck Designs put it all together for me and I absolutely love it! I just picked out a digital scrapbook kit, explained to her some of the things I wanted for the site and then I sent her my pictures. She took it from there and did an amazing job!

Thank you Christie!!!!

Beautiful Princesses and Time Flies

My friend Kathy had a game night at her house a little over a week ago, and while the adults ate, talked and played games, the little girls entertained themselves by dressing as princesses...

They are so cute!

And I also snapped this picture of Bri and Chani that night while they were eating. They have grown so much...

Remember when they looked like this?...

Yep, they are sitting together at the same table just like they did back in Dec 2007. Time does fly, doesn't it?

Horace and The Sleepover

About a month ago, Briana brought a friend home to stay with us for a few days. His name is Horace. Horace the Horse to be exact. You may remember that Briana brought home Mickey Mouse back in February when she was in her 3 year old class, but she got to bring home Horace this time now that she is in Pre K (she was in the Mickey Mouse class last year and now she is in the Pony class). I had to write in a journal just like when Mickey was with us...

While Horace was visiting, Briana had a sleepover scheduled at Gramma and Papa's house so of course Horace had to go along.

Briana had the best time at Gramma and Papa's house - which is why she never wants to come back home when it is over. ;)

Here are a few more pics of the fun overnighter...

Fall Break - Mid-Autumn Moon Festivities - Part Two

Briana was supposed to go to gymnastics class on Wednesday night, but she fell asleep on the way home from the zoo and when she woke up, she said she was too tired to go to gymnastics. I knew it might be too much to make her go to the zoo and gymnastics all in one day. So she skipped gymnastics and I decided to let her stay up a little late (due to her hour nap) so we could look at the moon. I read the new Grace Lin book to her before it got dark. When it started to get dark, Doug, Bri and I drove to St@rbucks thinking we would be able to sit outside and look at the moon. Well, everyone was smoking that was sitting outside. Doug had an idea and thought we should go to the playground in our neighborhood to look at the moon instead. A perfect idea! The playground was all lit up and we could see the moon perfectly. We ate our moon cookies, drank our tea (Bri her milk) and looked at the moon. The moon started out an orange color, was unfortunately covered by clouds for a little while and then it came back out a bright white color. Besides a few bug bites, the evening was perfect. :D
