My Lovely Pocahontas

I did a quick Halloween costume photo shoot with Bri yesterday afternoon! She looks so beautiful as Pocahontas!!! The weather was in the mid-70's yesterday and will be in the 50's today with rain. I had to take advantage of the nice weather! I have a feeling she will be wearing a coat over this on Halloween night!

My Little Saint

All Saints Day is next Tuesday (the day after Halloween), and the church asked all the PSR kids to come dressed up like a saint to class yesterday afternoon. Briana picked Mary - that way she could bring Pink Baby as Baby Jesus. She looked so cute! (Ok - I know there were no light up princess shoes in Jesus's time, but it is all I had to work with. :D )

Unfortunately, very few kids participated in the request and I was a bit disappointed. I was really looking forward to seeing the kids all dressed up. Bri and one other little boy in her class received a prayer card for dressing up and Bri was pretty excited about it.

The outfit - two white pillowcases, one blue tablecloth and a piece of gold rope. Voila!!!!

Team Spirit Day

Today was Team Spirit Day at school! Of course, Bri had to wear daddy's favorite college team - Notre Dame. She looked so stinkin' cute...

My friend Kathy made these adorable bows for Bri and gave them to her for her birthday. Today was the perfect day to wear them. Check out her bows at Kathy's Bows!

She Is Just So Awesome

She is just so awesome. My Briana. I know I am her mom and I am totally biased, but I think she is so darn awesome. I can't get enough of her. This child enriches my life in so many ways. She makes me laugh. She makes me happy. She makes me feel young again. She also makes me nuts. She makes me tired. She can frustrate me like no one else can. But, no one else in the world could ever replace her - she is a one of a kind. She is my sunshine, my princess, my heart, my life, my soul, my love and my daughter...

Thirteenth Birthday Party of the Year

Briana's good friend Laney turned 5 on Tuesday! After school, Angela (L's Mom) got a few of Laney's close friends together for a play date with cupcakes. The kids had a blast running around and playing on the playground.

Miss B's adorable card for Laney...

Notice all the shorts  and skirts in top group picture? In October? It was on the warm side that day - very comfortable. A cold front came in the following day and now the highs are in the 50's. Gotta love Georgia's fluctuating temperatures!

Welcome to 5 Laney!!!

Disney On Ice - Dare To Dream

Disney On Ice was absolutely wonderful! Bri loved every second of it. I have the soundtracks to both "Princess and the Frog" and "Tangled" completely memorized, so I knew every word to every song. The lights, music, costumes - all amazing.

We did not tell Briana until the morning of the show that we were going. She was thrilled! Here is my princess (you might notice that her right eye is swollen - she had two small mosquito bites on her eyelid and her eyelid swelled up)...

Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy introduced the show and the first set of numbers came from "Princess and the Frog"...

The second set of numbers came from Cinderella...

The third set of numbers came from Rapunzel...

And the last number featured all the princesses and their princes. Bri was thrilled to see Mulan there. Briana was quick to point out that Pocahontas was the only princess left out...

This was Briana's face the entire show...

My princess...

Since the show venue is attached to the CNN center, I decided to get a pic of Bri in the sign...

I will add that the only issue we had that whole day was dealing with the traffic getting to the show. It was a complete nightmare. The Falcons were playing at 1PM and the show was at 12PM. The Atlanta p@lice officers that were directing traffic decided it was much more important to get the fans to the stadium than the ticketholders to the ice show (even though the ice show started first). They were horrible, horrible, horrible at directing traffic that day. (Honestly, they suck any time directing traffic when we have to go to the arena.) We were sitting in line trying to get to the arena parking lot for a half an hour only 5 blocks away and not moving at all. I finally had to get Bri out of the car and walk with her those five blocks to get her to the show on time, and Doug finally got to the parking garage and walked in 20 minutes late to the show. Half of the arena was empty when the show started. Atl PD - please get your act together. Otherwise, we had an awesome time!

Here are some very short video snippets of the show if you have time to watch! My camera had a bit of a hard time focusing in the dark, but you can still see everything. :D
