Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday afternoon, Doug, Bri and I headed over to our neighborhood Easter event which included an egg hunt, puppet show and petting zoo. The field was sectioned off according to age group for the hunt and Briana was all ready to grab as many eggs as possible...

Amongst all the colorful eggs, there were 5 golden eggs. We knew something cool was going to be inside of those...

As we waited for the hunt to start, Briana found some bunny ears...

Briana also ran into her friend/classmate "I". The girls waited for the hunt to start together. And they posed with the Easter bunny...

When the line was cut, Bri ran for one of the golden eggs and grabbed it. That's my girl! And then she started scooping as many eggs as she could...

Look at my golden egg...

There was a note inside the egg telling Bri to go to one of the booths to get her prize.
This was her prize...

Briana hung out with some of her friends from school...

And posed for pictures...

There was a puppet show...

And she got to make a puppet too...

Playing a game at one of the booths...

Time for the petting zoo...

And she and her friend "I" rode ponies at the same time...

Briana had so much fun. What she didn't know was that Daddy and I had a secret evening planned for her. So we had to leave the event in order to rest for a while before heading out again.
Next stop - Disney On Ice!

It's That Time Of The Year...

...when you buy mulch and beautiful flowers...

And then you put your kid to work - heh...

Don't worry about sweet Briana. She loved every second of working in the yard this past weekend. I wish I had her enthusiasm for pulling weeds. She is a weed-pulling rock star.

Gearing Up For Spring Break

Spring break has arrived and it is now time to entertain the kids. To try gear up for its arrival, a couple of nights ago Valerie, Amy and I attended a girl's night out (sans kids and hubbies) at a local store that was having a fashion show. We ate, drank, laughed and of course shopped...

The last day of school before spring break was an exciting one for Miss B. There was an sight word egg hunt and ice cream party for the kids learning 150 sight words. Bri was ready to go that morning...

And this is Miss B when she got in the car Friday afternoon after the egg hunt. She was checking out her stash...

She could not believe the amount of candy she ended up with. She kept saying "What in the world?" as she opened each egg and repeated "I love candy" several times as well.

I have a lot of activities planned for the break since we are not going out of town for a spring break vacation this year. We already had an amazing Saturday which included our neighborhood egg hunt and a Disney ice show. More on that to come...
