Mommy/Daughter Alone Time

Two weeks into summer vacation and Briana and I have already spent a lot of quality alone mommy/daughter time together. We've planted together...

We dressed up, did a little shopping at Garden Ridge and had lunch at Fuddruckers...

Is this the perfect chair for my fashionista or what? (I did not buy the shoe chair, but Bri really wanted it)...

The hamburger at Fuddruckers was the size of her head (she only ate half)...

On our referral anniversary, Bri had speech therapy (she finally said her middle "r" sound correctly - yay!) and right afterward, we went to the nearby town square. We had lunch at a little, quaint Italian restaurant...

And there was a cute train to play on...

Finally this weekend, Bri and I went to our neighborhood pool. I couldn't believe we hadn't gotten over there yet. Well, we finally did...

The water was quite chilly. Bri needed a little wrap up in a towel break...

We are thoroughly enjoying our summer so far. Love spending time with my gal.

I had to cancel swim lesson for today because it is pouring outside right now. Thank goodness we got some swim time in already!

Play Date Fun With Maisie

Yay! It was finally time to have a play date with Maisie!

Briana was so excited on Tuesday morning waiting for Lisa and Maisie to arrive...

As soon as Maisie hit the door, the girls ran up to Briana's play room and we didn't see them for a very long time. They finally emerged when they started to get hungry.

We ate salad and sandwiches for lunch and the girls ate some popsicles for dessert.

They started off in separate chairs...

But somehow ended up in the same chair...  :)

Who knew there was so much cuteness in just eating popsicles?

After playing indoors for several hours, the girls wanted to go outside and run in the sprinklers. I love when they grab the umbrellas and run through the sprinklers like it is raining...

I filled up a bucket so the girls could use the water to fill up some squirt guns, but Maisie decided to sit in the bucket and it was so cute. So, I grabbed another bucket for Bri to do the same thing. Perfect photo opportunity...

Gotta have a silly face picture...

Sweet bucket buddies...

I love summer because it is a time for me and Bri to catch up with friends that we don't get to see as often as we would like during the school year.

It was great catching up with Lisa and the girls had a blast together! Good times!

Sixth Referral Day Anniversary

Six years ago today, Doug and I saw the most beautiful face that we had ever seen. We knew our new daughter was going to turn our lives upside down - in the best possible way. Happy 6th referral day anniversary to our sweet girl.

* (Above) Six years old.

Five years old...

Four Years Old...

Three Years Old...

Two Years Old...

One Year Old (22 months)...

Briana was 10 months old at referral. She was probably around 7 or 8 months in this picture...

Doug and I had struggled for six years to start a family before we finally saw this breathtaking face. Jiang Ai Juan was worth every second of that wait.
