Amelia Island Vacation 2025 - Day 3/Sunrise, Sailing And Shopping

Tuesday was another very pretty day. A little warmer than the day before, but not too bad.

Doug and Briana got up early to go for a sunrise walk and I opted to view it from the hotel room.

This was my view that morning...

This is what Doug and Bri saw...

Doug and Bri grabbed a little breakfast and I opted to eat a breakfast bar in the room. They were going sailing (I get motion sickness) and I opted to just chill in the room that morning.

They had a great time sailing (unfortunately it was windier last year, so they weren't able to go out as far this time) and these are the pics they sent me...

Briana steered the boat a lot of the time (there was a captain on the boat with them)...

They had a really nice time together.

They came back, freshened up and we had lunch in the lounge again...

Then we went shopping at the nearby historic downtown area (something I couldn't do last year)...

I love little trinket shops...

Fudge, ice cream and candy shop (the caramel popcorn was the bomb!)...

It started getting pretty warm at this point - too warm - so we headed back to the hotel.

We had another nice meal at the lounge...

Another day down! The next day - another pool morning and a delicious meal in the evening.

Amelia Island Vacation 2025 - Day 2/Swimming And Relaxing

Day 2 of our vacation was exactly what we had hoped for. Beautiful weather and light breeze. Hot, but not too hot.

Doug got up really early to walk the beach. He wanted to see the sunrise, but unfortunately, there were too many clouds to see it that day. I looked out of the window myself and saw clouds - pretty clouds but clouds...

Doug got back and we all went to eat a little breakfast at the lounge. We ate light because we knew we wanted lunch/drinks poolside for lunch...

We got in our swimsuits and headed to the pool. A view out the hallway window as we walked to the pool...

We rented a cabana for that day and for day 4 of our stay. We really like having our own space/comfort and also having some shade as well.

This was our cabana...

Three cabanas in a row...

The connecting cabana...

Our view...

We really enjoyed chilling and swimming. Briana was cold every time she got in the pool...

We ordered chicken nachos, pork nachos and fruity drinks poolside (so delicious)...

More pool time...

After several hours, we felt done. Enough sun and water for the day.

We went back to the room to clean up...

 Afternoon balcony view...

Briana and I decided to go down to the lobby area and check out a couple of stores in the hotel and see what was happening. Look at these sparkly, expensive bags and items...

We came to the lobby and the hotel was allowing the kids to ring a bell and get candy (Bri is too grown up now - sniff)...

We headed back upstairs to rest a while and then headed to the lounge again for some dinner...

 Dessert...

Evening view from the room...

And that was our day 2. Very nice and relaxing. Day 3 consisted of sailing, shopping and food.

Amelia Island Vacation 2025 - Day 1/The Ritz Carlton

Here is our trip recap!

I hadn't been on a vacation in a year and it was time for a little sun, rest and relaxation. We went to the Ritz last year, but we had such a nice time, we decided to return this year. Last year, my heel was so painful that I wasn't able to walk on the beach at all. I hobbled to dinner and the pool. I knew my surgery was ahead of me, so I was feeling nervous. This year, I was able to walk on the beach. I still don't feel super great, but being able to walk again was really amazing.

Just like last year, there was a mix of weather on our 6 hour drive down to Florida...

Florida...

Amelia is so close to the GA/FL border that we are in Florida for maybe 15 minutes before we arrive at our destination.

Driving into the Ritz...

And we arrived late afternoon...

Love being greeted with a glass of champagne...

And it was off to our room...

Our suite (Bri slept on the pull out couch). There are only two suites like this in the entire hotel. Luckily we booked early enough to snag one. We were in the opposite suite (same floor) last year...

Our balcony...

More champagne (gift from the hotel)...

We freshened up and headed to the club lounge where we had dinner (club lounge is always a rotating buffet)...

After eating, we decided to take a walk on the beach...

It was very windy that evening, but the temp was beautiful...

I was so happy to be walking...

Heading back toward the hotel...

We sat in some Adirondack chairs and enjoyed the dunes for a little while. The bunnies on property are so cute...

Back in the room - lovely view from balcony...

Doug and Bri headed back to the club lounge for some desserts (I opted out)...

And that was our day one. The next day was going to be filled with just swimming, eating and relaxing.
