An A"Maisie"ng Saturday!

Doug, Bri and I headed over to the "S" family's house on Saturday afternoon. We hit the door and the girls took off immediately to play. Lisa was cooking up a storm and we all dined on a chicken and rib feast. Just head over to Lisa's cooking blog because I know she is going to post all the yummy goodies she made. It was a wonderful afternoon/evening for the little and big kids alike. :D

The girls dressed like princesses...

Ate lunch together...

And swam and shot water guns in Maisie's pool...

Around 5:30pm, the girls got ready to head over to "Parents Night Out" at Maisie's gym. They had so much fun a few months ago, Lisa and I thought it would be fun if the girls went again.

Here the girls are hugging and hanging around a bit before heading out...

Doug and I picked up Bri from the gym around 9PM and she was exhausted. She had a busy afternoon! Not a lot of people can tire Miss B out, but I can't say the same for Maisie. Playing with Maisie manages to wear her out every time!!!

The Surprise Friday

Of course the biggest surprise that occurred on Friday was the birth of my new nephew (he was born a bit early), but we also discovered something Friday evening. A new store opened in one of our nearby malls. Yes, oh yes. A new Lego store opened. My two Lego fanatics were completely ecstatic.

Doug, Bri and I hopped into the car Friday afternoon after the recital and after grabbing a quick bite to eat with ML and Amy. My parents greeted us at the hospital gift shop to buy Baby N some presents. And even though Gramma and Papa had to miss Briana's recital, Gramma still had a
cool new gift for Miss B...

The hospital was about an hour away from home. And it was Friday night. We knew traffic would be nasty when it was time to head home. So, we stopped at the mall on the way so Bri could ride the carousel and we could grab a bite to eat for dinner and wait for the traffic to die down. Miss B got to ride the zebra...

Then we started walking through the mall, not really sure what to do. And then it happened. I spotted the Lego store and told Doug and Bri. They were so excited. It was like the mother ship was calling to them...

We found out that the store had open that day. Can you believe it? It was meant to be. :D

Camp Tutu Dance Recital

My sweet girl. Giving it her all. She loved every second of Camp Tutu last week. The recital consisted of the girls showing us some of their ballet moves and positions and performing a tap number at the end. I did not want to buy tap shoes for a 5 minute tap performance, so Bri had to perform the tap number in ballet shoes. She pulled it off though!

I have three videos at the end of this post. The first is of the adorable tap number. The second, Briana doing some ballet moves. The third, Briana busting it during one of the ballet moves. She can be quite graceful at times and clumsy at other times. She really has the best intentions. She just loses focus sometimes. I think she performed wonderfully though...

A little pat-a-cake with ML before the recital...

 Here is her gracefulness...

ML's leap...

Spin, spin, spinning...

Ballet positions...

Waiting for the music to start for the tap number - "Hey Mama Loo!"

A little kick line...

TA DA!!!!!

 The videos...

I gave Briana a little treat after the performance. She is all about Hello Kitty right now.

Thank you Camp Tutu for giving Briana such a fun week!

Just Keep On Swimming

Well, I cannot say we haven't been swimming this summer! Last Wednesday, Bri and I went over to our friends Angela, Laney, Hailey and Hayden's neighborhood pool for some water fun! The kids had a great time jumping into the water yelling "Cannonball!"

They swam for two hours! I just love seeing Briana having fun with her friends.

And the Monday before that, we went to Ansu and Kira's house for some private swim time! Kira is so fascinated by Briana - it is just adorable. I guess someone who is almost 6 is very intriguing when you are only 2. :D

High fives in the pool!!!

Bri loves Kira's swing set...

We are trying to get as much swim time in as possible. I realized last Wednesday that Bri only has six weeks left of summer vacation. Because she is on what is a considered a "year round" school schedule, she gets a lot more breaks throughout the school year. But that means she goes back to school on August 1. Yikes!

My Birthday Recap

As you all know, I turned 39 on Tuesday. Next year - it's the big 4-0. I had a very quiet and restful day. Exactly the way I wanted it.

When I went downstairs, I found that the hubby had decorated the kitchen for me.
Isn't he the sweetest?

He dropped Bri off at camp in the morning for me and I took it easy all morning.

In the evening, Briana and Doug took me out for dinner...

We went to a restaurant that had formerly been an old mill at one time...

The food was so delicious. Briana loved these heart attacks on a plate delicious onion rings...

My and my silly girl...

We got home and Doug had bought me this cute little cake...

And he gave me these beautiful earrings that I admired a few weeks ago...

He also gave me this floppy hat to wear to the pool. I love it and will totally use it, but I do think
Miss B looks much cuter in it than me. :D

A big thank you to my hubby and sweet girl for giving me such a special day.
