Kathy and I had made plans to take the girls to White Water Park a couple of months ago and scheduled it for Thursday. Unfortunately thunderstorms were a big threat, so we opted to take the girls to a jumpy place instead. We had lunch and then took the girls for some ice cream. As we were sitting outside under cloudy skies (it never did end up raining badly), we decided to try to go Friday instead. Briana really wanted to go to the park because she had never been before. Me - I had not been there in 25 years. I was a teenager the last time I visited the park with my cousins.
The weather still had a rain threat on Friday, but we lucked out at the park. No rain the entire time!
I snapped one picture of the girls with my camera phone before we headed inside. I didn't take my camera inside or my phone! Can you believe it!? I did feel like my right arm was missing, but I do admit it was fun just going with the flow not feeling the need to snap a picture.
I am sore, sunburned and exhausted today. But seeing the smile on Bri's face the whole time yesterday was worth it. We basically stuck with all kid and family-friendly rides. Briana jumped from slide to slide wanting to see everything and then the process repeated itself over and over. Chani was more reserved and a little more nervous about all the water fun. There were times I had to hold Briana back because she was almost becoming too much of a risk taker. And her energy level never matches mine. She doesn't understand sometimes what "take it down a notch" means. Kathy and I agreed if we could stick a little of Briana's fearlessness into Chani and a little of Chani's reserve into Briana - we would have kid perfection! LOL!
I did take Briana on one big slide called the "Bahama Bob Slide." It seats 4 or 5 to a raft. Chani was not interested in riding it so she and Kathy went back to the tidal wave pool. Bri and I ended up sitting with a threesome (a mom and two girls). The raft goes down pretty quickly with lots of twists and turns. Bri loved it of course! The line was long and we waited about 10 minutes to get on it, so we only went on it once.
Everything Briana got off of she would say - "THAT WAS SO AWESOME!!!"
The girls did have a blast and so did the moms. We ate a quick lunch and the girls scarfed down dippin dots for dessert. Going back to WW brought back a lot of fun memories for me. I will definitely take Briana back next year. And I'm sure as she gets older, she will hit more and more of the thrill slides. I will gladly watch from the bottom. :D
I did not take any of the following pictures, but you will see some of the stuff we hit yesterday...
The Little River Hooch...

Buccaneer Bay...
Captain Kids Cove...
The top of Bahama Bob Slide...
Here is a
video link to the ride. Not sure who these people are, but they filmed the ride.
A huge thank you to Kathy for giving us her free tickets to the park. It was great fun and a great memory too!
