This is Briana at her friend Dylan's birthday party today. She, of course, had a fantastic time. I honestly can't think of a time when Briana didn't enjoy a birthday party.
I can't believe how fast she is growing up. She is all little girl now. I can really see it - especially when she interacts with her friends. I remember when I was so worried about her speech. Now, I can't get her to STOP talking. LOL!
Here are a few Briana-isms...
Today, Dylan's brother Jacob was trying to open the packaging of one of Dylan's birthday presents (without asking). Briana said to him, "That's DYLAN'S birthday present. That is for DYLAN." Snort...
Doug also loves to tell Briana how "crazy" I am - on a regular basis. Nice, huh? Definitely feeling the love. ;) The other day, I bent down to tie one of Briana's shoes and my knee cracked. Bri asked, "Mommy, what was that?" I told her that was my knee and that I was getting old. Later that afternoon, Doug once again was kidding around with Bri and told her that "Mommy is crazy." She said, "Mommy's not crazy, she's just getting old." She's too smart for her own good.
I had to take my kitty Asia to the vet on Friday, and Asia hates being in a carrier and hates being in the car even more. While I was checking out at the vet, Asia was crying in her carrier. Briana said in the cutest voice, "Don't worry kitty. We're leaving in just a minute."
Briana, Doug and I were all in the car last weekend, and Doug asked Briana how she was doing back there (in the car). She said, "I'm fine Daddy, I'm just picking boogies out of my nose." Lovely...
She is very polite. She asks, "May I have (insert item here), please." We have a Chick Fil A play date after gymnastics almost every Wednesday. She asks her friends, "May I have a pickle please." (She and her friends like to get sides of pickles and share them).
When I ask Briana to do something she doesn't want to, instead of saying "No", she says "Maybe not."
She is telling me now that she wants to be an animal doctor when she grows up. :)
She loves to tell people that she is three years old. And she can also tell people her full name now.
We've entered the "why" phase at full force. I can do very little now without my three year old asking "why" we are doing something.
This is really a fun age. I never know what she is going to say or do. I can't help but chuckle. She's just a hoot.

6 Kind Words:
