Fall Break - Mid-Autumn Moon Festivities - Part One

Woo hoo! Above is a picture of Briana and her friends Laney and Hailey on the way to the zoo on Wednesday! What a perfect way to spend the day on the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival! I'm so happy the Moon Festival landed during fall break. We've been able to do a lot of fun things this week that we couldn't have done if Bri had been in school. Angela drove us all down to the Atlanta Zoo and we had a great time looking at all the animals, riding the train and carousel and playing on the playground. Our favorite part was visiting the Asian section of the zoo. It features a beautiful tiger, a brown bear and of course, the adorable pandas of Chengdu. Ok, time for pictures...

Though the weather was a little warm, all the shade trees made the visit very pleasant. What a wonderful start we had to the Autumn Moon Festival. We can't thank Angela and her girls enough for such a fun day!

The Mid-Autumn Moon Festival Approaches

Tomorrow is the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival! To get ready for the holiday, Briana and I baked delicious mooncake cookies this morning to eat tomorrow - just like we did last year.

After making cookies, we met friends Liene and Emilija for lunch!

We have a fun day planned at the zoo tomorrow (this week is Briana's fall break) and if Bri is not too tired from that, she has gymnastics practice tomorrow evening. When we get home, we will gaze at the moon together with Daddy.

Fall Break - The Aquarium With Matthew

Today, Bri and I joined Suzanne and Matthew for a fun time at the Georgia Aquarium. It was a perfect way to kick off fall break! The kids had an absolute blast, but I will let the pictures speak for themselves!

 

The Last Piece

We finally bought the last piece of Briana's bed. She is officially in a grown up girl's bed.

We started off with this when Bri was a baby...

A year ago, we converted her crib into a full bed but didn't buy a foundation/box spring for it because we wanted the bed close to the ground in case she rolled out of it (which did happened once or twice).

A couple of weeks ago, we finally bought a foundation for her bed and on Saturday, it was delivered. The bed is now a normal height... 

She is one very happy girl!
