I had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend (yes, it really seemed to extend through the entire weekend). It was so relaxing - the most relaxing weekend I have had in a long time. No birthday parties, no extracurricular activities, nowhere special we needed to be.
On Sunday morning, Briana and Doug gave me some really amazing gifts. This is Briana's gift from school...
Doug also had a beautiful necklace made out of a drawing that Briana made of me and her. I am a queen and she is of course a princess...
This is the finished product. So amazingly special (Doug get mega points for this one) - I wore it all day yesterday...
He also asked Briana to draw a picture of our family and she made us as teddy bears. He framed it for me...
Doug also made reservations at an upscale restaurant for brunch. We all got gussied up...
The restaurant was so nice and the buffet was dangerous outstanding...
You probably can't see it, but there was even a chocolate fountain...
Briana asked Doug to take a picture of her giving me a big smooch...
Across the street from the restaurant was a mall and we decided to walk around it a little.
Somehow Briana walked out with a new pair of Sketchers...
And I walked out with a beautiful soft blanket from Z Gallerie and this fantastic purse from the Michael Kors store...
Seriously, Doug surprised me with the purse. We were looking around the Michael Kors store for fun and when Bri and I stopped in the restroom, he went back into the store and bought it for me.
I was so spoiled yesterday (all weekend actually). I am the luckiest girl - I have such a special daughter and the most amazing husband. I often feel that I don't deserve all of this.
And Friday evening, Bri and I met up with my mom, sister and her boys for an early MD get together. Briana wanted to wear this dress...
At the restaurant, Briana played with her cousins. N2 loved Briana playing peek-a-boo with him...
We exchanged some gifts outside the restaurant after we ate...
Briana asking cousin N1 to come play checkers with her...
Briana and Gramma...
Friday morning, I worked on cleaning off my upstairs and downstairs porches. I love having screened in porches, but they are a pain to clean - especially when a thick layer of yellow pollen covers them in the spring. After several hours of washing them all down, they were reading for relaxing on.
I wanted them to be ready because I knew what a gorgeous weekend it would be to sit out on them...
I spent a lot of time chilling on these porches. It was so nice. A perfect Mother's Day weekend indeed.
I needed the relaxation because I am gearing up for several busy weekends and the last two weeks of school. And the last few weeks of school are always busy - lots of activities going on that I need to attend.
Speaking of that, I will be blogging about May Day tomorrow. :)

2 Kind Words:
What a lovely time!
You have a beautiful family!
