I touched on a few things that I did for my birthday in my last post, but this post is about my actual birthday.
I turned 51. Yep - it doesn't even seem possible. My body screams 51 (actually older than that), but my mind still feels like I am younger. I think I will do a post on how I feel about being 51, but for now, I will just talk about my happy day.
Doug and Briana decorated the dining room for me the night before my birthday...
They did an amazing job and I felt very special...
I slept in a bit that day and decided I just wanted a quiet morning/afternoon before heading out to a nice dinner.
I spent a few hours on my upstairs porch - as I mentioned in my last post...
I got dressed up early afternoon and took a few pictures of myself...
I'm not really one to wear dresses, but I decided to wear a dress that day.
I wanted to open my cards and gifts and taste a small slice of cake before going to dinner. Briana made small strawberry cheesecakes from scratch! Per my request. And they were absolutely delicious!
I had accidentally broken one of my salt and pepper shakers and Briana found some new ones for me on Ebay...
I got some really nice gifts, including a sizing kit for an Oura Ring from Doug. He told me to size my finger and he would buy me an Oura Ring for my birthday. I have been wanting to get a better grasp on my health numbers, and this is a great start. I decided on one that is rose gold...
It was finally time to drive to dinner at "Rays On The River"...
Briana went there with her friend for prom, but before that, Doug and I hadn't been there in many, many years. I don't even remember how many.
It was nice to be back...
Doug sat next to Briana but switched seats for a minute to take a pic with me!
We sat right by the window and overlooked the beautiful garden and Chattahoochee River...
The waiters we had couldn't have been any nicer and the food was quite good. The appetizers and sides were delicious. Unfortunately, Briana's lamb chops came out way overdone and she had to send them back. It took a while for them to come back out, but they were very good once they did. Doug and I split a dinner of filet, crab cake and shrimp - and it was quite yummy. The desserts were delish! We got them for free because of my birthday and because it took so long for Bri to get her food again...
After finishing our meal, we went outside to explore the garden area...
