About June - Clean Porches, Nostalgia, Father's Day, Time With Friends & Family And (Some Of) My Birthday

I've already done a bit of blogging about the month of June - Bri's referral day anniversary, an evening at The Fox and Georgian Hotel and a couple of graduation celebration dinners...

But June is a very busy month for our family in general, so there is definitely more to write about!

Let me start with the "kind of regular" life stuff.

With my heel issue and my stomach issue, I wasn't able to rinse/clean off my back porches at the end of April like I usually do. It took me a month plus to finally get to it. And boy, did I miss sitting on my porches. In Georgia, they get covered - and I mean COVERED - in pollen and are pretty unusable. So once I get them cleaned off, I enjoy them again. I spent a lot of my birthday hanging out on my upstairs porch because the temperature was unusually comfortable for June.

My porches (the downstairs one was still wet when I took a picture)...

Enjoying my porch while looking at my computer on my birthday...

Briana got me this adorable light up kitty for Mother's Day...

Here are my little light ups in the evening...

We had some old wood in a wood pile that needed to be burned, so Doug did so in our fire pit...

My gardenia bush (my favorite flower) blooms in June and it did once again this year...

We have a mama deer and her babies coming around our house (and they are eating my hydrangea shrub though - grrr)...

We finished up all the Mr. Mac's mac and cheese trays that we purchased as one of Bri's graduation gifts. We ate two in May. In June, we had the pizza, Buffalo chicken and Philly cheesesteak (I am torn between the Buffalo chicken and the lobster being my favorites)...

Briana has been crocheting like crazy this summer so far...

And here is just a picture of Briana because Doug got her a new shirt and it is really cute...

At the end of June, I placed a few of Briana's senior session photos in a multi-picture frame (that I had to assemble) to display on my wall (I had two pictures already hung up, but I wanted more)...

And as I was blogging Briana's graduation post a while back, I got a bit nostalgic. So I found my graduation photos and did "side by sides" of me and Bri at the same age...

We celebrated Father's Day a day early with my dad at my parents' house. Doug, Bri and I picked up some BBQ for lunch for all of us (so yummy!) and then the fathers opened their presents...

Actual Father's Day was very low key - which is how Doug wanted it.

I made him pancakes for breakfast and he grilled steaks for dinner. He wanted to watch soccer during the day and we all watched the movie "Tommy Boy" in the evening. And Doug also opened his gifts which included some beef jerky/snacks, a "Jaws" cup and a beautiful crocheted Highland cow made by Briana...

Also in June, Briana and Meredith went out for a lunch and shopping day...

My high school bestie took me out to a yummy birthday lunch...

My besties Amy and Valerie joined me for dinner for a joint celebration for me and Valerie since we both have birthdays in June...

On the day we celebrated Father's Day early with my parents, we also celebrated my birthday early (the cake had strawberries in it and it was delicious!). My parents' spoiled me...

I realize that this post is getting a bit long now, so I will talk about my actual birthday in my next post...

 To be continued!
