Informal Chinese Dance Performance

Saturday afternoon, Briana's Chinese dance class gave an informal dance performance for parents, grandparents and siblings.

I love being to able to watch all the dance moves that the girls have learned in class.

The girls are actually split into two classes - a younger class and an older class. Briana is in the older class. But Saturday afternoon, the teacher combined both classes for the performance.

They started off in a circle to do some warm up...

Ella, Briana and Mary Lin...

My friend Amy rounded the girls up for a photo opp...

Sweet friends...

And the warm up began...

The teacher told the girls to make silly faces...

Then the demonstration started...

Miss Chani...

Then there were crossing the floor exercises.

Imerie is on the left...

Mary Lin on the left...

Emma and Briana...

Small step exercise...

Chani crossing the floor...

Emma and Briana again...

The younger girls did a dance and the older girls waited for their turn. I love how they were interacting with each other...

Then it was time for the fan demonstration...

And the dance began...

Now some cute girls with fans photos...

My mom was able to make the performance. She loved it all!

And here are two videos from the performance that afternoon. The first video shows hand movements. The second video is of the fan dance. Doug accidentally covered the microphone on the phone while he was recording so the music is a bit muffled. But if you turn up your volume, you can hear it fine...

We are so fortunate to have this amazing class for the girls. Briana loves every second of it!

1 Kind Words:
